Maximum payouts

For the purposes of this Clause: "Winning the Operator Player" means any person – (i) who is resident in South Africa; and (ii) who has a betting account with the Operator or any Lottoland South Africa Group Company via any of the Group Websites, and (iii) who has placed a winning fixed odds bet with the Operator on the outcome of an Underlying Lottery, which qualifies for a prize in the Type A and/or Type B prize category, as listed in Clause 11.1 of these Terms and Conditions. The Operator guarantees that it will, at a minimum (subject to the applicable Jackpot Payout Caps set out in the table below), place every Winning the Operator Player in the same economic position as if he/she had placed a bet into the Underlying Lottery itself. To ensure that this happens, the Operator will always apply the payout rules of the relevant Underlying Lottery (and will always apply exactly the same deductions and payout table as the operator of the relevant Underlying Lottery) in determining amounts payable to Winning the Operator Players. The amount after such deductions are calculated will then be subject to any applicable Jackpot Payout Cap.

Accordingly, subject to the applicable Jackpot Payout Cap, the Operator shall pay out to the winning Operator Player either (as applicable): (a) the full Type A or Type B prize (as the case may be) advertised by the operator of the Underlying Lottery, when the Winning the Operator Player is the outright winner (i.e. in any case where there are no other Type A or Type B prize winners (as the case may be), whether any such player(s) played directly into the Underlying Lottery or placed a bet with the Operator or any other Group Website); (b) one-half of the relevant advertised prize amount, where there is one other Type A or Type B prize winner (as the case may be), whether that player played directly into the Underlying Lottery or placed a bet with the Operator or any other Group Website; (c) one-third of the relevant advertised prize amount, where there are two other Type A or Type B prize winners (as the case may be), whether those players played directly into the Underlying Lottery or placed a bet with the Operator or any other Group Website; or (d) such other prize amounts as may be determined by the total number of prize winners in the relevant prize category, based on the same formula applied in (a) through (c) above. Please note that all the above-mentioned payout values will be made in the equivalent Rand value.

Jackpot Payout Caps

The total Winnings in respect of each Underlying Lottery draw are subject to a maximum payout limit (Jackpot Payout Cap), as determined according to the table below. For each Underlying Lottery draw, the Jackpot Payout Cap will apply to the combined total amount of Winnings across all winning Bets in the Type A prize category which are payable by the Operators across all Group Websites. This means that, in respect of a particular draw where there are multiple Type A winning Bets across the Group Websites, the Jackpot Payout Cap payable will be split between the winners.

* In each case, the Type A Prize Total will be the amount of the Underlying Lottery Jackpot published by the Underlying Lottery Operator as at the time the Bet becomes In Play (this occurs following the draw which precedes the Bet's relevant draw) as subjected to any withholdings and deductions and as converted into Euros by the Operator. This applies to all Bets including Subscription Bets and other Bets ordered before the preceding draw.

** Please note, all Jackpot Payout Caps will be made in the equivalent rand value (as converted on the day of the win).
